On 1/1/2013 Tae Brooks introduced his cover video of “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars to his fans. Tae has a history of admiring Bruno Mars’ musical style. In the past he has covered The Lazy Song, Grenade, and Talking to the Moon.
When Bruno’s album, Unorthodox Jukebox, was released, Tae was immediately drawn to the cut WIWYM. It seemed a natural fit for him to cover. While the song challenged Tae, it was at a period in his growth as an artist that Tae was ready to meet the challenge. His soulful rendition of WIWYM with its ambient orchestral accompaniment sets the mood for what will surely be a fan favorite.
